Six Liberian journalists and a Lebanese merchant were on Tuesday summoned at the Monrovia City Court on charges of Criminal Coercion.

Tete Gebro of Radio LIB- 24; Boima V. Boima of New Democrat; Octavian Williams of Nation Times Newspaper; as well as Charles Yates, Rufus Paul, Emmanuel Dahn, and Sam Fawaz a Lebanese, were sued by Henry Costa of Voice FM Radio and one Musa Sackor for accusing them of deporting Sam Fawaz from Liberia.

According to the Liberia News Agency, the writ of summons issued against the accused said the act of the six journalists has exposed the complainants to public ridicule and impaired their business reputation.

The six accused were sued at the Monrovia City Court at the Temple of Justice for linking Costa and Sackor to the deportation and murder of co-defendant Sam Fawaz.

Meanwhile, the six journalists and Lebanese have been temporarily released to their lawyers, Counselors Wuefue Sayee and Tiawon Gongloe, with the order to produce them in court on January 20 or face contempt charges.
